...Corrupting the Youth

When I was growing up, playing DnD was considered taboo. Dungeons and Dragons was considered the stuff of crazy people and devil worshipers and we young players had to keep on the down low or risk ridicule and, in some bizarre cases, childhood therapy sessions. Very few saw it as a way for young minds to exercise creativity or for as a way for someone to see what it was like living a different life for a little while.
Now...now geeks seem to be closer and closer to being part of the ruling class and the mystery and fear surrounding DnD has fallen away. To that end I've been teaching my son the finer points of Dungeons and Dragons as well as Pathfinder (a game built on the mechanics of one of the better versions of DnD ) and, if I can find a space that can accommodate the space and time needs, will be starting a weekly game for 7-12 year olds. I'm certain that I will get some kind of backlash from parents, but that's to be expected. Am I corrupting the youth with my plans, or simply exposing them to something that will, in the end, enrich their lives?
Secretly, I like to think it's a little bit of both.
